This is a copy of the Hammond Family Bible records of Nathan Hammond and his wife Hopy Yates.I was in Indiana several years ago, at the Allen County Library, doing research. I honestly had not found much, and was preparing to head back to the great state of Ohio. I thumbed through some very old genealogy magazines from the 1960's and found a little ad pertaining to the Hammond/Gilbert family in Ohio. I wrote a letter to the lady that placed the ad, only to find out that she had passed away. Her daughter graciously went through her documents and mailed this to me. She indicated that the Gilbert family was from her father's line and that her mother "loved all family Bible's and genealogy." As far as I know this document has only been shared a few times so it is an important one to our family history.
More to come about Nathan and Hopy. We are of course descended from Nathan's son, Nathan Hammond born January 10, 1802.
